Education and Training Committee Looking for Student Liaison

The Education and Training Committee is looking for a current student to serve as a student liaison on our committee. The student liaison term would serve a 1 or 2 year term, depending upon their anticipated graduation, and begin after the 2010 Annual Meeting. Contact the ETC Chair, Jennifer Hain Teper (jhain@illinois.edu) if you are interested.

Thanks Ryan, I just forwarded the posting to a few of my classmates. I said the time commitment would be a conference call or few e-mails per month, tell me if you expect more time than that.

It looks like a great position, maybe they could give us updates on the blog as emerging conservators are definitely interested in Education and Training topics. But here I go giving them more work when I promised it would not be a huge commitment! I guess it is just my excitement.

Here is a comment from Jennifer Hain Teper about the time commitment required for this position: "Rose - thanks for your inquiry! we're looking for a student who is interested in furthering student education and training opportunities, but also
will contribute to larger discussions and planning on the committee.

The liaison is responsible for attending meetings, whenever possible (one a year at the annual meeting) and participating in e-mail and (rare) conference call conversations. The total workload would never exceed an hour or two a month in almost all cases, which many times being less than that.

Jennifer"
